ALERT: PCPCS Secures PDE Reversal on Redirect Action!

On March 14,2013, the Pennsylvania Department of Education issued revised invoicing instructions that prohibited charter schools from including enrollment for future months in any request for redirection. More specifically, the instructions stated that “The Department will not process any withholding request that includes payments due to a charter school for future months, and will return the documentation to the charter school for correction.” This change was effective immediately and would delay payment to charter schools for at least an additional month. In working with the Governor’s office and PDE, we were able to have that March 14 directive rescinded. All charter school CEOs and business managers should have received notice on March 29 of that action and should follow the procedures that were in place prior to March 14.
