Also some good news for City High and the Richard King Mellon Foundation!‘s international service learning program to Costa Rica is one of eight honorees for a SHYNE award which will be presented on Saturday, August 6th, 2016 at the August Wilson Center. The second attachment contains the information City High has received about the award and the event. The SHYNE group gives this award to highlight the positive contributions that youth are making in our community and the world.
We will be featuring this recognition through our social media pages connected to the school’s website next week. What follows is a draft statement that we are working to refine for the announcement.
“The Richard King Mellon Foundation has provided generous financial support for over a decade of City High’s international service learning/environmental studies program to Costa Rica as well as partnering to provide all City High students team building and leadership opportunities through day trips to western Pennsylvania’s excellent environmental venues like Camp Kon-o-kwee, Presque Isle State Park, Ohio Plye State Park, Laurel Caverns and Teen Quest.”
