MLK Sunday Supper
January 14 @ 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Dear Members of the Pennsylvania Community,
We hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. As we embark upon a new year, we are writing to extend an invitation and request for your invaluable support in becoming a community partner for an event that holds significant importance in our community.
On January 14, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., we will gather at the Lincoln Charter School, located at 559 West King Street, York, PA 17401, for the Lincoln Charter School MLK Sunday Supper. This event is supported by the Pennsylvania Coalition of Public Charter Schools and promises to be an evening of reflection, discussion, and community togetherness.
This year, our MLK Sunday Supper will revolve around the theme of mental health awareness. We are honored to have Advocate Lisa Kennedy from the York County Department of Human Services as our conversation lead on the “Mental Health Summit: the conversation continues.” It is our collective responsibility to address the mental health needs of our community, and this event is designed to be a platform for open dialogue and support.
The purpose of this gathering is to raise awareness and offer support to individuals within our community who are in need of mental health treatment. By coming together, we can diminish the stigma surrounding mental health and foster an environment of empathy, compassion, and understanding.
What do we need from you? Permission to use your logo on the flyer and in press release, commitment to attend the event, and contributions of items to the mental health kits. To make this event even more meaningful, we kindly request your help in contributing to Mental Wellness Kits that will be distributed to those in need. These kits are designed to provide comfort and inspiration to individuals who are on the path to mental well-being. We ask that you bring any of the following items as donations:
A journal and pen.
Teas like chamomile, lavender, or peppermint.
Essential oils, such as lavender or orange.
Photographs of happy moments.
Handwritten notes with positive messages.
Bath bombs.
Fuzzy socks.
A sweet treat.
All donations will be gratefully accepted and will be distributed to the York County Human Service Department and local shelters, where they will have a significant impact on those who are seeking help and support.
We believe that, together, we can create a stronger, more compassionate community that is committed to the well-being of its members. Your participation as a community partner in this event will play a vital role in achieving this goal.
Please confirm your participation by December 31, 2023 to ensure that we can make the necessary arrangements for the event. We look forward to joining hands with you and creating a brighter future for York, Pennsylvania.
If you have any questions or require further information, please feel free to reach out to us at Dr. Anne Clar, 717-818-7680 or info@pacharters.org. Thank you for considering our request, and we look forward to your positive response.
