Statement on the Passing of Destiny McDonald, Student at Insight PA Cyber Charter School

On behalf of our statewide charter school community, the Pennsylvania Coalition of Public Charter Schools (PCPCS) extends our heartfelt sympathy to the family of Destiny McDonald of Insight PA Cyber Charter School.

Earlier this week, Destiny passed away in a row home fire in Philadelphia, a tragedy described as “…one of the most tragic days in our city’s history…” by Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney.

Destiny was an eighth grade student who was bright, energetic, and loved her family.  In her short life, we are thankful to her inspiration and she leaves behind a legacy that we should all strive to live up to.
