Great news for Charter Schools and Students!
PCPCS and Conrad O’Brien are thrilled to announce the return of PCPCS and Conrad O’Brien Essay Contest! Last year we were fortunate enough to welcome the winners of the First Annual Essay and Picture Contest at the Annual Conference, but like all things, we are taking it virtual this year! While we are unable to accept pictures this year, we have expanded the essay contest to include four levels of competition!
The essay contest is open to charter students in 1st through 12th grade and the winner of each age group will receive a $100 Visa gift card!
The four levels of competition include:
Students between the grades of 1st – 3rd
Students between the grades of 4th – 6th
Students between the grades of 7th – 9th
Students between the grades of 10th – 12th
CONTEST RULES:
*Each essay must include your name, grade, your school’s name, and contact information for your parent or guardian.
*Only one submission per student will be accepted.
*Each submission must be accompanied by a “Release and Parental/Guardian Permission for Use of Student Image, Voice, Video, Work, Art, Writing, Photography, and/or First Name for Promotional, News Media, Communications, and Educational Purposes” signed by the student’s parent or guardian. The release can be downloaded here.
*Grades 1-3 must begin “I am thankful for my charter school because…” and can be 1-3 paragraphs.
*Grades 4-12 must include this year’s theme: “Thankful For My Academic Home: My Charter School” and must not exceed 500 words.
Final essays must be emailed to essaycontest@pacharters.org. All submissions must be received no later than 5:00 pm EST on November 20, 2020.
Competition winners be notified by December 1, 2020.
