The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has prompted expanded support of charter schools and school choice by Pennsylvania families and parents across the nation. Policymakers such as Toomey are taking note of the need to implement legislation that will empower parents to make the best choices with laws that foster expanded charter school options and equitable funding that supports quality charter schools such as Bear Creek Community Charter School.
Today, our Executive Director visited Dr. Robert Ketterer Charter School, which was founded in 1998 and was the first charter school in Westmoreland County. Ketterer’s niche is providing positive academic, behavioral and therapeutic support in a nurturing environment for students who have struggled in a traditional school setting.

This morning we visited in Harrisburg! PASCS began as a child care center and daycare where parents, students and the staff of Premier Learning Center, loved what the center was doing so much that they worked to continue that mission by founding a K-5 charter school!
This morning Ana and Brandie visited Innovative Arts Academy in Catasauqua, PA! The vision of Innovative Arts Academy is focused on creating a meaningful and rewarding secondary education (Grades 6-12) for students that will prepare graduates for their future careers and further education with the fulfillment of the school mission and vision.
Today we visited one of our newest members, in Emmaus, PA! Seven Generations is one of only five Environment as Integrating Context (EIC) Model Schools in the country, and the first school in Pennsylvania to have earned the EIC Model School designation.
