The statewide coalition will gather with members of the public charter school community on the importance of parents and educational choice

Harrisburg, PA (June 6, 2022) –  The Pennsylvania Coalition of Public Charter Schools (PCPCS) is holding a press conference Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the Pennsylvania Capitol Main Rotunda.  There will be speakers from the PA Public Charter School Movement, including parents.  Members of the media are invited to attend the press conference.

“Parents are the first educators of our children.  They provide love, guidance, support, and so much more for our children.  They advocate for what’s best for their children and have deep insights into the needs of students, families, schools, and communities.” – Dr. Anne Clark, CEO, Pennsylvania Coalition of Public Charter Schools

Parents know what is best for their children, their voices matter.  There are close to 165,000 children attending public charter schools in Pennsylvania.  They are attending public charter schools because parents decided they were best for our children’s wellbeing.

The Pennsylvania Coalition of Public Charter Schools Parent Advisory Committee was recently launched to advise PCPCS as it develops and implements a strategic plan for PCPCS’ objectives now and into the future.

Committee Members are: Jenna Hannum, Christine Rock, Kristen Valenti, Maryclaire Foundakos, Megan Beatty, Colleen Freyvogel Bruss, Nicole Anderson, Nicole Bubenheim, Lisa Kennedy, Lauren Silinski, Lynn Griffith, Tracey D. Duncan, Chelsey Gerrich, and Crystal L. Long.  To learn more about the Parent Advisory Committee please visit https://pacharters.org/parent-advisory-committee/.
