On behalf of PCPCS, Excellent Schools PA and ExcelinEd, we would like to thank everyone who took time to participate on our call with Representative Mike Reese, prime sponsor of HB 97, yesterday to clarify the intent of the language of the bill.  We had tremendous response and are encouraged by the feedback we have received after the call.

We are also very thankful for Rep. Reese’s leadership on this issue and openly acknowledge that he has done a tremendous job in trying to strike a balance between those in the General Assembly and interest groups that would like to see charter schools go away.

If you were not able to participate on the call, you can read the minutes here.  You can also find some of the highlights of HB 97 here.

HB 97, in its current version, is the first step to making updates to a 20-year antiquated charter law and it will hopefully open pathways for further charter school reform in the future.
