Ana was at Keystone Education Center Charter School in Greenville this week. Keystone Charter School was the first charter school in the Commonwealth and was founded in 1997 with the passing of Act 22.
The school was established to address the needs of a wide variety of students who have difficulty functioning in the traditional public school environment. The intent of the school is to afford students the opportunity to gain positive educational experiences, to earn a high school diploma, to develop marketable skills and the necessary work ethic needed for post high school success. Ana was guided by two students (pictured) who shared with her their personal story of how this school has saved their lives and given them the opportunity of a second chance — these are the stories that test scores are not telling!
