This is great news for students who thought they missed the application window. While as of this writing applications are slightly under last year’s number, acceptances are ahead of last year’s record pace. So, if you know of a sophomore or junior who would benefit from the life-changing PFEW program, there’s still time to sign up. If you know students who are already attending, encourage them to bring a friend!
This summer, sophomores and juniors from all across Pennsylvania will once again have the opportunity to participate in Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week (PFEW). PFEW is a statewide summer program where students learn about business, life and themselves. They’ll learn how to run their own business while experiencing college life and competing for prizes along with the title of top company! It’s a great addition to any college application or résumé. This educational summer program has five one week sessions, held at Lycoming College and the Pennsylvania College of Technology, both are located in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
Throughout this adventure, students will meet and work with some of Pennsylvania’s top executives. Make new friends, as they learn the value of teamwork while working in student lead companies of 16-18 other sophomores or juniors from across the state.
PFEW provides a perfect opportunity for eager students to learn about career opportunities, such as law, finance, engineering, manufacturing, advertising, environmental protection, computer technology, politics, and much more! Students will listen to speakers, run a simulation, create advertising campaigns and learn many new things, all while having fun! Leisure activities will include volleyball, a pool party, ice cream social, and a dance.
PFEW is are the largest summer business education program in the world! We are entering into our 40th year and over 42,000 students have taken the “PFEW journey”.
